According to Aol Autos, the Volkswagen Golf is a stylish and practical hatchback that provides European-level compact car handling and amenities in a safe and affordable package.
The Golf is available in either two-door or four-door bodystyles, and the trim levels include a GL on the two-door and GL or GLS on the four-door. Two different engines can be had, a 115-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine, or a 100-hp 1.9-liter four-cylinder TDI diesel engine (four-door only). A five-speed manual is standard, the gas engine offers an optional four-speed automatic, and the TDI can be optioned with a five-speed automatic with Tiptronic. The Golf is unchanged for 2005 after the numerous updates for the 2004 model year.
